Recipe 11 · Repeat purchases & revenue · Short campaign
Clear three photo stages to unlock a secret “buy one, get one” coupon
Turn the in-store experience into three achievable steps, with a secret menu coupon for clearing them all. Members get the fun of discovery, and your brand keeps a record of missions, reviews and coupons claimed.

Campaign length
14 days + 2-day review tail
First-time setup
90 min first-time setup
Ongoing cost after launch
Manual review, about 15 min a day × 14 days
Times are estimates for running the recipe itself; brand content, reward prep, customer service and results reviews need separate staff time. The scope of training and hands-on support is confirmed based on your plan.
We practice it with you
Together we write the missions and review criteria for all three stages, prepare no-photo options, and make sure staff know how to mark coupons as redeemed.
What we review together afterward
Look at completions per stage, what's waiting for review, and how many claimed coupons get redeemed in store, then find the step that most needs simplifying.

1 / 8 · Day 1
The missions page shows just one card: “Secret Menu · Stage 1 of 3.” Stages 2 and 3 are truly locked — their data isn't even sent to the phone — so the words “of 3” have to be on the card, or he'll think there's only one mission and leave.
Every stage keeps a no-photo path, so people held up by review never get stuck for good.
How to get all kinds of members to take part
Three safety nets. Stage 1 puts a photo task and a no-review text task in the same stage, pick 1 of 2, so people who don't want to take photos or are stuck in the review queue can still move forward. Stage 2 is pick 2 of 3, so anyone who doesn't want to post on IG can do text + in-store check-in instead. The bonus sub-condition is a “bonus,” not a “requirement”: whether or not the reviewer grants it doesn't affect clearing the stage. The whole recipe is goal-based, not rank-based — everyone who clears it gets exactly the same secret menu coupon; the only difference is how many points they've built up.

What to set up in the admin console (132 fields total)
1. Turn on the Mission series module
There's no self-serve switch in the admin console; our engineers turn it on manually. Before signing, we check whether it's already on for your project
2. Build stage 1: a photo task + a no-review text backup task, pick 1 of 2 in the same stage
Photo task 14 fields + bonus sub-condition 4 fields + backup task 14 fields
3. Build stage 2: three parallel cards, pick 2 of 3 (including an IG post screenshot)
14 fields per mission × 3 cards
4. Build stage 3 and the secret coupon, issued the moment the stage is cleared
Secret coupon 11 fields + shared code 2 fields + final-stage mission 14 fields + direct reward assignment 1 field
5. Assemble the series, order the stages, set the completion reward
The series itself 6 fields + 6 stage steps × 4 fields
6. Schedule a daily review shift
Zero fields, but it's the most expensive part of this recipe — the direct result of a backlog is that stage 2 won't appear for anyone
Staff time: 90 min setup. Manual review, about 15 min a day × 14 days (about 3.5 hours, which can't be compressed or outsourced). Plus 30 min to wrap up and take stock
Prerequisites: Mission series module turned on by us (there's no self-serve switch in the admin console; we check your project before signing), The brand assigns one dedicated person who can spend 15 min a day reviewing photos, written into the contract — without this person, we won't take on this recipe, A physical store, or a secret item that can be marked as redeemed, Secret coupon stock and cost approved, codes ready (or a decision made to use a shared code), We add the “pick K of N within a stage” admin field (one-time)
Other ways to play with the same “Mission series”
We set up your first campaign together and explain the thinking behind it, so your team gradually learns to run things on its own. See how training and hands-on support work
Limits to know before you launch Pitfall × 10
- This recipe needs us to add one admin field first (the number for “pick K of N” within a stage) — half a day, one-time, and once added it's shared by all clients. Until then, any series you build is “finish everything in a stage to pass,” and the pick-1-of-2 and pick-2-of-3 safety nets disappear.
- Photos are private: a photo a member uploads can only be seen by that member and admins, and there's no public display wall. Your copy must never say “your photo will appear on the wall” or “everyone can see it together.”
- The bonus sub-condition is hard-wired to manual review. Switching a mission to no-review mid-campaign silently wipes the existing bonus settings, with no warning at all. Decide before launch; this switch must not be touched mid-campaign.
- There's no bulk approval. 600 photos means opening a window 600 times, one by one. Clients always ask, “Can't we just select all and approve?” The answer is no.
- Review is 100% manual. The system's AI only screens nicknames and profile pictures and doesn't look at mission photos, so never say “AI reviews your photos for you.”
- The secret coupon needs codes imported first, or shared-code mode turned on (everyone uses the same redemption code). If you do neither, people who clear the stages get a pending coupon with no code, and the store has no way to mark it as redeemed — and the in-store redemption rate is the only number that matters in this recipe.
- When coupon stock runs out, the final stage fails entirely — the user sees “Mission completion failed,” not “Completed, but no coupon.” Set stock 20% higher than the number of people you expect to clear it.
- To truly get “one coupon per person,” set the final stage's completion limit to 1 — not the prize's per-person redemption limit. That field only covers redemptions through the Points Store; it's ignored when clearing the stages awards the prize directly.
- IG doesn't send back any record proving he actually posted. A “post screenshot” is the only legitimate substitute, but screenshots can be faked: either accept a certain share of padding, or use the bonus review as a second check. Don't pretend this can be verified.
- The series' time window uses fixed dates and everyone shares one timeline — personalized due dates can't be done. People who join after Day 10 won't have time to clear it.
What can't be automated
- Our engineers turn on the Mission series module manually
- The brand reviews photos by hand one by one every day, with no bulk approval — about 15 min
- Decide by hand, photo by photo, whether the bonus applies — this is the only gate that releases the bonus
- Save the secret coupon, then go back and import the codes; coupons issued without codes land in Pending and need to be fulfilled by hand
- From Day 10, change your promo messaging by hand — the system won't stop newcomers who can't finish in time from joining
- Days 15–16: clear the review backlog by hand
- The in-store redemption rate relies on store reports or a read-only query we run; there's no ready-made report
